Easy Grounding Techniques with FREE Meditation

It is so important to be grounded, especially during these current energies, that I wanted to write more about what this means and give you some easy ways to ground.

I have also recorded a grounding meditation with Light Codes to help you too, which is towards the end of this article.

Being grounded means you have a strong connection with Mother Earth and who you are, which brings you physical, emotional, and mental balance.

Anyone following the spiritual path should ground regularly, but is especially important for Healers, Mediums, Intuitives, Empaths, and highly sensitive people.

If you aren’t grounded, you’re like a leaf in the wind: very vulnerable and thrown off balance quickly.

But when you are grounded, you are like a big, strong tree. If something happens around you, it doesn’t influence you as much and you are able to feel much more peaceful and balanced in your daily life.

Grounding re-connects you to Mother Earth so you can be fully present in your body.

Grounding is also known as Earthing, which refers to direct skin contact with the surface of the Earth, such as with bare feet or hands.

Walking barefoot on the Earth is said, by many cultures from around the world, to enhance health, reduce pain and provide feelings of well-being as the Earth’s electrons transfer from the ground into the body.

“Grounding appears to improve sleep, normalize the day–night cortisol rhythm, reduce pain, reduce stress, shift the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic toward parasympathetic activation, increase heart rate variability, speed wound healing, and reduce blood viscosity.”

When you have NOT grounded you may feel:

  1. Lightheaded

  2. Tired

  3. Disconnected

  4. Confused

  5. Shaky

  6. Dizzy

  7. Headachy

These feelings and sensations can happen when you’ve got excess energy running through your system, normally from doing energy or spiritual work, and the energy has nowhere to go!

Grounding can help get rid of this excess energy and re-balance your energy.

Grounding also helps us to release any negative energy we may have picked up from others as well as helping us to release our own old emotions into Mother Earth.

When we allow our body to connect with the Earth, we enhance our mental, physical, and emotional well-being and create a more sound, clear way of thinking.

Vitality, health, and wellness are benefits of allowing yourself to be grounded with the Earth. It’s a great exercise, and best of all it’s free!

Best Way to Ground Yourself!

Take off your shoes and socks and stand outside on the grass (or bare earth or on the sand at the beach). This grounds you straight away without you having to do anything, although doing the visualization exercise below will give an added benefit of connection and release.

If it is too cold to do the above or you haven’t much time, then stand or sit with your feet firmly on the floor inside your home.

Visualize roots coming out from the soles of your feet going right through the Earth to the central core/heart of Mother Earth. I imagine her core is like a ball of glowing lava!

You should feel something when you reach the core e.g. a burst of energy, a sense of peace, love, safety, etc.

Once you have connected, take a deep breath and pull up the energy through your body.

I practice this type of grounding every day before and after any spiritual work.

Grounding Meditation with Light Codes

I have created a short and relaxing grounding meditation with some Light Codes to help you ground and connect to Mother Earth, which I hope helps you re-balance your energy.

You can listen to this meditation as often as you wish. Please do not listen while you are driving or operating heavy machinery! Only listen when you can relax fully.

Here are some other easy ways to ground:

  1. Connect with a tree! Go outside and place your hands on a tree you feel drawn to. Imagine any old energy being released into the tree trunk. Once you have released your old energy, ask to receive the tree’s energy by visualizing it being absorbed through your hands into your body. Once you feel replenished, thank the tree.

  2. Spend time in nature, play, go hiking or do some gardening.

  3. Walk barefoot along the beach, letting the water lap at your feet. Salt (water) is very grounding and the waves have a very strong cleansing and replenishing energy.

  4. Have a salt bath with some Epsom salts or Himalayan salts. You can also add grounding crystals to your bath and fresh herbs.

  5. Meditate with grounding crystals such as Black Tourmaline, Kyanite, Black Onyx, or Obsidian

  6. Eat! Eating is great for grounding and is something I do after giving readings or deep energy work as I get very hungry! It reminds us that we have a physical body, and the process of digestion helps to bring the energy down away from our Crown and 3rd Eye Chakras.
